Please note that late submissions will not be considered or accepted. Work of this Contract comprises of approximately 18m2 of selective demolition to existing Lab building to allow for approximately 230 m2 new construction (addition) of a climate controlled seed storage single story facility and site work for the Plant Gene Resources of Canada (PGRC) located at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. This new facility addition will be tied to the existing Saskatchewan Research and Development Centre (SRDC), which is managed by Agri-Food & Agriculture Canada. It will consist of, but is not limited to, new concrete pile foundation, cast-in-place reinforced concrete walls with structural cast-in-place reinforced main floor and pre-cast concrete roof structure. The new roof will feature a modular green roof tray system and the building cladding will have a stone masonry finish (limestone or granite) to blend with the existing. Existing sewer will have to be re-routed with new manholes to allow for this building addition. New landscaping around the addition will be required. The addition will be services by new condenser units to be located on the roof of the existing SRDC facility. Fire protection will include both wet pipe sprinkler systems and dry chemical fire extinguishing systems. Finally, it is anticipated that hazardous material abatement will be required during demolition and renovation associated with this Work.
