Description

Notice is hereby given that Vancouver Coastal Health Authority (“VCHA”) (the “Health Authority”), through their agent Provincial Health Services Authority (“PHSA”), intendsto directly award a Contract to the following supplier to provide Hydrogen Peroxide & ETO Monitoring System, hardware and software for Vancouver General Hospital for a one time purchase at an estimated value of $52,960.60 USD (before taxes).

PHSA, as agent for the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority has chosen not to proceed with a competitive process for the following reason:
• the goods or services can be supplied only by the selected supplier and no alternative or substitute exists for the following reason:
(a) due to an absence of competition for technical reasons

VGH needs to expand their sterilant gas system for PAA monitoring that includes a sensor exchange program that is calibrated specifically to the targeted gas and capable of connecting to the area monitor. ChemDAQ is the only continuous gas monitoring system for H2O2 that comes with pre-calibrated sensors that do not require continuous maintenance, testing or calibration, and provides both a visual and audible alarm. The Monitoring system is the only one that does not utilize pumps, and has no moving parts that could fail in the ChemDAQ system. ChemDAQ Inc is the only supplier in Canada that can provide the Sterilant gas system.

Vendors who wish to challenge this decision should submit a detailed written objection for the attention of Manish Chauhan, Buyer, by email before 2:00pm Pacific Time, September 16, 2024.
