Description

Provide a Base Bid Price for the repair to the existing sanitary piping at the Government of Canada Building, located at 2755 High Point Drive, Milton ON.

Generally, the scope includes; Decommission and remove existing sanitary piping outside the building up the manhole connection point. Contractor to excavate the necessary soil volume to access the below grade piping and provide trench support as per the Ontario Trench works safety standards. Supply and install new sanitary piping, complete with fitting, and accessories. The new piping is to be sloped towards the manhole at a minimum 1% slope. Supply and install new sanitary pipe fill and soil. Refill the excavated trenches with compressed soil, add new soil as needed and cover the trench area with grass to match the existing. Remove the existing fence temporarily to complete the work and reinstall it upon completion of the work. Modify the existing manhole connection to fit the new pipe slope elevation and deal it as noted in the drawings. Contractor to execute all the items noted in the arborist report attached within this contract. Contractor to utilize one of the recommended options for the construction path within the arborist report. Contractor to complete all the work identified in the specifications and drawings.

For this specific project, the minimum-security requirement on Personnel Clearance Level is PWGSC Reliability & RCMP Facility Access 2 (FA2) and on Organizational Level is Designated Organizational Screening (DOS).

Bids submitted at $100,000 or greater must upload the following bid security (“Bid Security”) in Merx:

• a bid bond in a commercially reasonable form or an irrevocable standby letter of credit issued by a financial institution authorized to conduct business in Canada as a Schedule I or Schedule II chartered bank in the amount of at least 10% of the Bid Price and that shall be in effect until forty-five (45) calendar days following Closing Date; and
• a confirmation from the Bidder’s surety (a performance bond and labor and materials payment bond, each in the amount of 50% of the Contract Price + Value Added Taxes) that, upon the Bidder being selected as the Selected Bidder, to furnish any contract security prescribed in the Contract in respect of the Work.
