Modernize the existing equipment by replacing all major items (controllers, drives, machines, door operators, cab interior surfaces) as well as minor components in the elevator system. The existing geared machines will be replaced with new machines of gearless type. Install a pre-transfer signal to the elevator controllers, indicating upcoming transfer to emergency power with time delay. This allows the elevator controls to park the cars at the time of the power switch over. Upgrade the interior of the cab including finishes, lighting, and ventilation systems. Where possible, energy efficiencies in lighting selection, lighting controls and demand controlled ventilation will be explored.

Abatement specifications to be added in an addendum at a later date.

Bidders are expected to examine carefully the site(s) at which the Deliverables are to be provided, fully inform themselves of the existing conditions and limitations and include in their Bid a sum to cover the cost of all items contemplated in the Contract.

Bidders are advised that there will be an OPTIONAL site visit to be held on the date and times specified within the item 2.6.15. A maximum of three representatives of each Bidder, or its authorized representatives, are permitted to attend the OPTIONAL site visit. Attendees will meet the BGIS representative at the East Post Security Desk of 9755 King George Boulevard. BGIS will contact all Bidders that register and confirm the site visit time in the case when there are multiple site visit times. For mandatory site visits, Bidders are only required to attend one scheduled site visit to be eligible to bid. Bidders will be notified of any changes to the date of the site visit by Addenda. Bidders cannot use a representative from another Bidder as its authorized representative to attend the site visit.
