Description

The Regional District of Central Kootenay (RDCK) is seeking an onsite Campground Host for the beautiful Glacier Creek Regional Park. Glacier Creek Regional Park Campground is located on the eastern shores of Duncan Lake Reservoir, north of Meadow Creek, BC. The park is approximately 20 hectares of treed landscape that includes 34 campsites, 2 picnic shelters, 8 outhouses, a swimming beach, boat ramp and potable drinking water.

The Glacier Creek Regional Park Host will be responsible for providing a safe, sanitary, socially acceptable, environmentally responsible, rustic public recreation opportunity. The host will help recover operational costs through the collection of camp fees. The host will be required to provide personal onsite accommodation and will report to the RDCK. This position will run from May 13, 2024 through September 27, 2024. The host will be paid $3,300 /month for a total of $14,820. The host will also have an opportunity to sell firewood within the campground, for increased revenue, if desired. The host will be required to provide proof of General Liability Insurance for amount of $5,000,000 at the contractors’ expense.
