Description

The Peace River Regional District (“the Regional District”) is seeking proposals from qualified consultants to complete an update to the existing Housing Needs Assessment in compliance with the new Provincial legislation by January 1, 2025. The existing Housing Needs Assessment was completed in 2021 and the associated documents are available for review on the PRRD’s website. This update to the existing Housing Needs Assessment is intended to assist the Regional District and partner member municipalities (Dawson Creek, Pouce Coupe, Hudson’s Hope and Chetwynd) to understand the current housing situation, to inform future policy and strategic decisions. The successful proponent requires a solid understanding of the current and projected housing market demand, socioeconomic factors affecting housing, demographics and other relevant factors. The proponent must be able to ensure that regional considerations are incorporated into the final plan, such as the remoteness of some rural communities, limited infrastructure, and limited resources available to support the development of new housing and/or the implementation of housing targets.
