Notice is hereby given that Northern Health Authority (the “Health Authority”), through their collective agent Provincial Health Services Authority (“PHSA”), intends to directly award a Contract to the following supplier to provide Emergency Switchgear Repair for Dawson Creek Hospital - DCH for a one-time repair of an estimated value of $94,405.00 .

In accordance with applicable trade agreements, PHSA, as agent for the Northern Health Authority has chosen not to proceed with a competitive process for the following reason:

• The goods or services can be supplied only by the selected supplier and no alternative or substitute exists for the following reason:
• To ensure compatibility with existing goods and to maintain specialized goods that must be maintained by the certified service provider of those goods. There is a sense of emergency because recent failure of this equipment was fixed just as temporary solution and this needs to be done as soon as possible to work on longer period, as permanent solution.
  Rationale
  This is highly skilled work. To our knowledge there is no vendor in Prince George North area capable of taking on this work. Any other vendor from any other location would have to spend significant time trying to come up to speed and perform trouble shooting which Magna IV has already gone through.
  
• Magna IV has completed some emergency preliminary work to ensure compatibility with existing products and systems;
• due to an absence of competition for technical and distance reasons.
• 
  To ensure the continued supply of these essential products/services to the Northern Health Authority with stable pricing, we will direct award the above non-volume committed contract.
