Description

Alberta Immigration and Multiculturalism (IM) launched economic immigration programs with the aim to attract entrepreneur immigrants and create jobs. IM intends to identify and select additional Designated Agencies to its Foreign Graduate Entrepreneur Stream.

- Foreign Graduate Entrepreneur Stream (FGES) – targets foreign graduates of top universities outside Canada who want to launch a start-up enterprise in Alberta.

The FGES provides a pathway to permanent residence for individuals who have demonstrated their ability to establish and operate a business that will provide significant economic benefits to the province of Alberta.

Designated Agencies will provide the following Services:
- support the marketing of Foreign Graduate Entrepreneur Stream (FGES) to seek clients for FGES on an ongoing basis
- vetting and selecting foreign graduates to recommend to AAIP and support in business start-up
- support foreign graduates by connecting them to appropriate networks, providing business counselling, coaching and guiding at the start of their business in Alberta and while they are trying to achieve the Business Performance Agreement requirements
- determine the entrepreneurial readiness of foreign graduate and the potential success of the start-up by reviewing the business idea and provide support on the Business Plan development
