Note that the Contractor must incorporate COVID-19 standardized protocols in their site specific Health and Safety Plan. In general, work under this contract will consist of, but will not necessarily be limited to, the following: PHASE 1 Remove existing infrastructure as indicated on the drawing. Dredge existing harbour bottom at location of new head cribs and launchway and install new timber crib section of new launchway and timber crib head cribs on rock mattress, geogrid and geotextile complete with scour protection as indicated. Install new drainage ditch as indicated. PHASE 2 Supply and install new armour/filter stone berm and subgrade as indicated. PHASE 3 Dredge existing harbour bottom in front of new berm to depths as indicated. PHASE 4 Relocate dredge material to new laydown area to elevations indicated; dispose of excess dredge material to designated disposal site as specified by Departmental Representative. Supply and install Class A, Class B, rock fill, geogrid and geotextile for new laydown area and access road as indicated. Supply and install rip rap and perimeter stone at top of new berm as indicated. Supply and install pre-cast concrete panels, cast-in-place concrete deck and timber wheelguard on timber crib launchway and approach as indicated. Supply and install structural timber deck and treated timber wheelguard on timber head cribs as indicated. Supply and install four (4) new treated timber floating docks with concrete anchor blocks as indicated. FAMILIARIZATION WITH SITE Before submitting a bid, it is recommended that bidders visit the site and its surroundings to review and verify the form, nature and extent of the work, materials needed for the completion of the work, the means of access to the site, severity, exposure and uncertainty of weather, soil conditions, any accommodations they may require, and in general shall obtain all necessary information as to risks, contingencies and other circumstances which may influence or affect their bid or costs to do the work. No allowance shall be made subsequently in this connection on account of error or negligence to properly observe and determine the conditions that will apply. Contractors, bidders, or those they invite to site are to review specification Section 01 35 29 – Health and Safety Requirements before visiting site. Take all appropriate safety measures for any visit to site, either before or after acceptance of bid. Bidders must refer to General Instructions R2710T (2021-04-01) for the Integrity Provisions (Code of Conduct and Certification) applicable to this requirement.
