The Government of Belize has received financing from the World Bank for the execution of the Belize Blue Cities and Beyond Project, being implemented by the Ministry of Finance. The Belize Blue Cities and Beyond Project aims to improve Belize"s management capacity for sustainable coastal and blue economy development, increase safe water supply, reduce land-based pollution discharges in targeted urban areas, and, in the event of an Eligible Crisis or Emergency, respond promptly and effectively to it. This project seeks to enhance municipal infrastructure, such as water and sanitation, waste management, and coastal protection, to support Belize’s long-term blue economy sustainability.

The Ministry of Finance invites interested and qualified individuals to apply for the contractual post of Technical Officer – Belize Solid Waste Management Authority. The Technical Officer shall be responsible for the execution of all technical and operational activities related to the Blue Cities and Beyond Project for the Belize Solid Waste Management Authority.

The selection for this contractual position will be conducted in accordance with the World Bank’s Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers (February 2025) and the Consultant Guidelines (2011), using the Individual Consultant Selection method. The process will also adhere to the procurement policies and the best practices of the Government of Belize. This selection is open to all eligible individuals as defined by the referenced policies.

Application packages should be submitted in English, using the required template, before or on March 6, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. (Local Belize Time). Late submissions will not be considered.
