Media monitoring and distribution platform with the following capabilities

· Coverage of all major news outlets in Australia, across at least television, radio, print, online, and podcasts

· Custom keyword searches for custom topics, such as election funding and disclosure

· Ability for users to create and distribute daily reports of relevant media coverage

· Ability for users to manually search for specific articles or coverage

· Ability to distribute media releases

· Ability to manage mailing lists of media release recipients

· Capability to target distribution of media releases to journalists and outlets by location and subject matter focus

· Australian customer support, preferably in Australia. This support includes open communication regarding bugs and software updates, with critical issues that hinder core platform functionality resolved in a 24-hour window.

· Capability to deliver all of the above without the use of AI tools or technology.

This procurement aims to secure a contract with a new media monitoring and distribution provider for the period including the next federal election.

Media monitoring and distribution are key requirements for any public service media team. The use of a third party provider to meet this need is now common across the public service. This is both because a single provider managing custom keyword searches dramatically lowers the workload required for effective media monitoring, and because media monitoring providers have agreements in place with news outlets that avoid the need for the AEC to purchase separate subscriptions to different outlets.

Media monitoring is a core requirement for Media & Digital Engagement, and will be vital as the AEC launches the FAD reform program in 2026 and prepares for the next federal election in 2028.
