CSIRO is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from suitably qualified and experienced service providers for the provision of café style food and beverage services (Services) for the café located at the CSIRO Parkes Observatory site.

The site is located at 473 Telescope Road, Parkes NSW is one of CSIRO’s better-known sites and includes a café facility which has recently undergone a refurbishment.

The site is home to Murriyang, CSIRO’s Parkes radio telescope; Giyalung Guluman, CSIRO’s 18-metre Parkes radio telescope and Giyalung Miil, CSIRO’s 12 metre Parkes radio telescope. Murriyang, an icon of Australian science, has been in operation since 1961 and continues to be at the forefront of astronomical discovery.

Respondents are to note that this EOI is the first step in a two-part process. Café Operators that raise their interest by submitting a response to this EOI may then be invited to participate in a subsequent Limited Request for Tender (RFT) process where CSIRO will provide the detailed requirement for operators to respond to.

Respondents are to note that only those Respondents that express interest by duly completing and submitting their EOI response through AusTender, may then be invited to the subsequent Limited RFT.

CSIRO reserves the right to not proceed with any further Limited RFT following this EOI, if CSIRO deems at its sole discretion that doing so does not represent the best interests of CSIRO.

Conditions for Participation:

Subject to Unintentional Errors of Form, CSIRO will exclude a Response from further consideration and evaluation if CSIRO considers in its absolute discretion that the conditions for participation set out in this clause have not been met by the Tenderer. Notwithstanding anything else contained in this EOI, only requirements listed in this clause will be deemed conditions for participation.

a. the Respondent exists as a legal entity at the EOI Closing Time and Date

b. at the time of lodgement of their Response, Respondents must not have been:

i. precluded from tendering for Australian Government funded work or

ii. subject to a judicial decision against them relating to employee entitlements (not including decisions under appeal, and have not paid the claim).
