The Bureau is Australia’s national weather, climate and water agency, providing a wide range of products and services to support informed decision-making by governments, emergency services, industry and the community.

The Bureau’s products and services include a range of observations, forecasts, warnings, analyses and advice covering Australia’s atmosphere, water, ocean and space environments. Its expertise and services assist Australians to manage and live within their natural environment.

The Bureau operates a nationwide weather station network of automated weather stations collecting observations of temperature, humidity, wind, rainfall, and pressure. This network underpins the validation of forecasting models, builds upon our climate record, and delivers services to Defence, Aviation and other major stakeholders.

The Bureau also operates a special-purpose flood warning network to provide real-time rainfall and river level data in support of the national flood forecasting and warning service.

The Bureau has identified a need for rain gauges to be installed at field sites to meet the Surface Observations Network and Flood Warning Network requirements.

The Supplier will provide the Supplies in accordance with the requirements set out in the attached Statement of Requirements.
