Defence Housing Australia (DHA) is issuing this Notice of Intended Procurement (NOIP) for our upcoming Townsville - QLD Aitkenvale Dwelling Relocation Expression of Interest (EOI).

Through this opportunity we are seeking proposals from industry to relocate and reuse vacant dwellings located in Aitkenvale.

The EOI provides an opportunity for suitability qualified organisations to provide proposals to purchase, relocate and reuse/renovate up to 68 vacant post-war era dwellings located at adjacent addresses in Aitkenvale, Townsville, as part of a planned redevelopment program. The dwellings are available for reuse subject to strict compliance with all relevant statutory, licencing and safety requirements.

The houses are in varying condition, and will be sold “as is, where is.” The buildings contain asbestos and other contaminants and relevant licencing will be required.

Conditions for Participation:

Respondents must hold or partner with holders of Asbestos Class A Licence and Qld Work Safe Act s419 Exemption to Relocate Dwellings.

Respondents must comply with all state and local authority requirements and hold all relevant licencing.

Respondents must hold relevant insurances.

Timeframe for Delivery:

DHA anticipates the EOI will be released 13 October 2025
