The Project will provide a long-term initiative focussed on building, investing in and sustaining Australia’s domestic capability to increase and improve the supply surety, availability and reliability of the ADF’s GWEO inventory. The investment in Guided Weapons and Explosive Ordnance (GWEO) is a key 2024 National Defence Strategy (NDS) initiative and requires additional investment in the Storage & Distribution (S&D) network to deliver a strategically aligned and fit-for-purpose network. The location of the Project is Nationwide. The following Work Elements (WE) have been identified:

• WE 1. Mount Stuart Training Area (QLD) – expand existing deep storage node,
• WE 2. Townsville Field Training Area (QLD) – New Surge Facility Storage and Transfer Hub (SATH),
• WE 3. Twofold Bay (NSW) – expand existing deep storage node,
• WE 4. RAAF Base Gingin (WA) – new deep storage node,
• WE 5. Cultana Training Area (SA) – new deep storage node,
• WE 6. Woomera Test Range (SA) - new deep storage node,
• WE 7. King River (NT) – new Surge Facility Storage and Transfer Hub (SATH),
• WE 8. RAAF Base Learmonth (WA) - new Surge Facility Storage and Transfer Hub (SATH).

WHS Accreditation Scheme
