The Advanced Strategic Capabilities Accelerator (ASCA), within the Department of Defence, invites you to respond to the Undersea Navigation Challenge Request for Proposal (RFP). ASCA seeks to identify and contract suitably qualified and experienced industry partners to develop a Prototype Undersea Navigation System (UNS) that can be matured through a phased development. If you are evaluated as successful you will be invited to enter contract negotiations with a view to enter into a prototype development and demonstration contract with ASCA for a duration of up to 18 months.

Specifically, under this Challenge ASCA seeks proposals for the development of a low Size, Weight, Power and Cost (SWAP-C) navigation system for autonomous undersea vehicles that can provide improved accuracy over traditional inertial navigation systems without aiding from satellite position systems or acoustic transmissions. ASCA is seeking a comprehensive proposal on how your organisation intends to develop and test the proposed technology, including a detailed budget and project execution plan. The Commonwealth envisages that solutions could exploit geophysical references such as magnetic or gravitational anomaly maps, but is open to other technology solutions.

Funding available for this Challenge is limited to $3.85 million (including GST) to fund up to 2 technology development contracts.
