Consistent with the Defence Industry Development Strategy and the One Defence Capability System, Navy recognises the importance of communicating our capability needs, as well as building a stronger relationship with defence industry earlier in the capability’s life cycle.

To this end, Rear Admiral Stephen Hughes, Head Navy Capability, will be holding a classified Maritime Domain Industry Forum on Friday 7 November 2025 in Sydney after INDO PACIFIC 2025. The aim of the forum is for industry to gain a better understanding of Navy’s capability priorities and information on when and where future industry opportunities may be available.

Due to the limited capacity of the secure venue, nominations are restricted to two representatives per organisation. In the event that the number of expressions of interest exceeds the venue capacity: (a) priority will be given to those businesses deemed to best represent their respective industry sector and (b) the number of representatives will be reduced to one per organisation.

The discussion will be held at the SECRET level, therefore, this event is only open to individuals who already hold a current Australian Government Vetting Agency (AGSVA) security clearance of Negative Vetting 1 (NV1) or higher.

All expressions of interest will be reviewed and vetted to ensure attendees are eligible to attend and their business interests align with Navy"s immediate industrial capability outcomes.

The classified Maritime Domain Industry Forum is open to businesses, with an Australian-based industrial capability and an Australian Business Number, that have a current or future interest in supporting Defence and Navy in delivering Maritime Domain capabilities.

This event is only open to individuals who already hold a current Australian Government Vetting Agency (AGSVA) security clearance of Negative Vetting 1 (NV1) or higher.

The Commonwealth reserves the right to determine who can participate at its sole discretion.

The Commonwealth will not bear any costs associated with attending this forum.
