This procurement seeks to engage with a supplier to provide tape transcription services to copy and concatenate geophysical survey (seismic or bathymetry) and well data stored on legacy format physical media to modern tape cartridge formats or hard drives, and concatenate data where applicable. The items do not always represent a complete survey or well package.

Seismic and reprocessed seismic data must be transcribed, remastered, concatenated and duplicated to either 3592 tape cartridges or hard drive so data items are readable and usable with data and data format integrity retained, and with one survey and one media type per output tape. Multiple surveys and data type can be exported to a single hard drive.

Velocity and navigation data must be transcribed to hard drive with data and data format integrity retained.

Well data includes LIS and unknown formats, which require transcription to hard drives and conversion to standardised LAS formats so data items are readable and usable with data and data format integrity retained.

Bathymetric data: Data will primarily be transcribed to HDD. Options for data to be transferred to cloud if available will also be assessed.

Initial work package to be delivered 30 May 2025.

Potential for additional work packages on an as agreed basis.

Conditions for Participation:

• Demonstrated experience and capability to transcribe seismic, bathymetric, or well data onto 3592 tape cartridges or external hard drives from any or all the following tape media, 3590, 3480, DLT, LTO, 4 mm, 8 mm, 21 track 1.0, and 9 track 0.5 within the contract term. Confirm that you have the relevant operational drives at the time of this proposal. See section A.A.2 for tape formats and data formats.
• Demonstrated experience to appropriately concatenate the data, maintaining data integrity.
• If applying for the well data transcription, demonstrated experience transcribing well data.
• If applying for the seismic and bathymetry data transcription, demonstrated experience to appropriately copy data bit-for-bit from tapes to tapes or tapes to hard drive.
• Demonstrated experience to provide detailed transcription and QC reports and files for survey and/or well data transcription and copy.
• Capability to transcribe all media for delivery to the customer no later than 30 May 2025.
• Capability to transfer to cloud if required.
• Returning all data to Geoscience Australia or another party as specified by the customer, and not retaining any copy of the data under any circumstances.
• All items must stay within Australia.
