The Bureau intends to create a panel of suitably crewed charter vessel operators to transport Bureau of Meteorology staff, equipment, and resources to undertake routine maintenance and service of a number of offshore weather stations located on small islands and coral cays off the NW coast of Western Australia.

This maintenance trip must occur between September and December due to the potential for severe weather in the area during cyclone season, which will restrict the ability of the vessel to travel to the required areas. The dates and times nominated are based on tide information to allow access to the islands.
