II.2.4) Description of the procurement

Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council are seeking to develop its first Land Based Solar Farm to be located on a "terraced" former colliery site above Coed Ely in Tonyrefail. The site is in Coed Ely which is located in Rhondda Cynon Taf.

The scheme is majority grid connected at 33kV with a loop in connection to an underground circuit, adjacent to the DNO substation. The eastern parcel is stand-alone 11kV private wire connected, to the Royal Glamorgan Hospital 3.2km from site.

The design is an east-west orientation due to the nature of the site topography.

The purpose of this exercise is guage the interest in this project to shape the future procurement strategy and to inform suppliers that the Council will be bringing the project to the market later this year, anticipated in Q4 2023.

Potential Suppliers who are interested in this opportunity are invited to

no later than 10am on 19th October 2023.

THIS IS NOT A CALL FOR TENDERS (ITT) OR A PRE-QUALIFICATION (PQQ) EXERCISE. This is a Request For Information

(RFI). The RFI will be used to facilitate a market sounding exercise to provide advance information of requirements and open a dialogue

with the market.
