The procurement falls outside the scope of application of the Directive

Explanation:

The BTEC Level 4 Professional Diploma in Clinical Services is offered at Bradford College and is the only accredited BTEC programme in the UK, providing an academically recognised award in pharmacy clinical services for Pharmacy Technicians.

Earlier this year HEIW pharmacy contacted the universities and colleges that offer pharmacy technician courses, to discover if anyone else had started to offer this and was told no. We have also done a google search of this type of course and whilst we did find one other educational provider offering a Level 4 course for pharmacy technicians, it was an inhouse course developed by the provider, with no external validation on the quality or accreditation by an appropriate accrediting body, unlike Bradford and does not allow the student to gain a BTEC qualification.

HEIW checked this in July 2023 and no other equivalent externally validated accredited course is being offered, so HEIW would like to procure another 15 students per year on this course for the next four years at a cost of 4000.00 GBP per student.
