Enterprise for Success

The aim of the Enterprise for Success contract is to offer a seamless provision for growth orientated food and drink businesses advice and support, building on the Rural Development Programme funded Cywain project.

SME food and drink processing is a challenging business which sits in the middle of a chain between farmers and intermediaries (supermarkets and food service distributors).

The contract will establish a delivery model of targeted support to SME’s within the food sector in Wales, with the aim to develop the capacity of SME’s within the food and drink sector in Wales; as well as harnessing the growth potential of new and existing businesses to ensure they maximise the business opportunities available.

The aim of creating and strengthening links between businesses and the supply chain will be at the core of the contract, using multiple tools to meet the complex needs of the sector, with a focus on growth, we also want target business expansion so more small businesses become medium-sized, and medium to become large — with the power to project a positive image of the entire Welsh food and drink industry into the wider market, resources will be channelled towards businesses wanting to upscale and develop.

Please note this Call-Off Contract has been procured and awarded in compliance with the procedures set out within Framework Agreement Reference: Food Sector Development Framework - F062/2021/2022. Under the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 (“PCR 2015”), a contracting authority is not required to issue an award notice for Call-Off Contracts awarded using frameworks, but the Welsh Government has undertaken to voluntarily comply with WPPN 02/22 in relation to the above referenced mini competition under this framework.
