Taffs Well Depot - Final Clean

SEILWAITH AMEY CYMRU / AMEY INFRASTRUCTURE WALES LIMITED (AIW) have appointed AMEY RAIL LIMITED (ARL) as one of the Infrastructure Delivery Partners (IDP’s) delivering the Taffs Well Depot as part of the transformation of the Wales and Borders Rail Service.

Taffs Well Depot is a brand new depot and maintenance facility situated parallel with the Taffs Well train station in north-west Cardiff which will serve as a centre point for the new Wales & Borders rail service transformation. It will provide: -

• Capacity for over 30 metro train vehicles (with space allowed for future fleet expansion)

• Multiple train stabling providing OLE charging lines for battery-operated rolling stock

• Brand new rolling stock cleaning and maintenance facilities

• Office accommodation for operators and maintenance staff

This speculative notice is for the subcontract work associated with delivering the Final (Project) Clean requirements of the depot, and is a means for us to gather prospective contractors that would be suitable tendering for these works. A formal tender will be released in the upcoming weeks.

Prospective contractors will need to have experience of undertaking similar large-scale final (project) cleans.

Please be advised that any subcontractor wishing to undertake these works will need to have verified ConstructionLine Gold in line with Amey supplier evaluation procedures due to the "on site" nature of the works (though this can be arranged for during the tender process, with evidence provided of working towards completion).
