Description of the Assignment: Under the direct supervision of the Project Coordinator Climate-REDD-Indonesia and in close coordination with the Senior Regional Technical Advisor as well as the Global SES Advisor in Climate and Forests team, UNDP, the national consultant will implement the following tasks.

The national consultant will also work closely with an international consultant to deliver all the required outputs.

1. Lead implementation of activities required to fulfil GCF and UNDP safeguards requirements in coordination with UNDP CO, the Ministry of Forestry (MoFor), the Ministry of Environment (MoE), as well as the Climate and Forest Safeguards Specialists, other consultants, and other government counterparts.

2. Undertake consultation processes for SES as part of the stakeholder engagement requirements of the GCF REDD RBP policy.

3. Develop an Environmental and Social Risk Assessment (ESRA) report for the period for which payment for results is requested.

4. Conduct UNDP’s Social and Environmental Screening Procedure (SESP) and develop corresponding safeguards instruments for the intended use of proceeds.

5. Support response to GCF safeguards review of the CN and FP.

Period of assignment/services: 110 working days within 10 months
