Provision of Technical Supervision Services for Staff Counsellors (Албания - Тендер #67072718)

WFP Staff Counselling Unit is looking for an external vendor to provide clinical supervision services to the staff counsellors on an individual basis. The team is approximately 30 staff, in a decentralised team, across 5 Regional offices: Bangkok, Cairo, Nairobi, Dakar & Panama.

For the purposes of this EoI, Clinical Supervision is intended to offer professional development support and not clinical oversight or responsibility for the cases presented. Supervision ensures that WFP Staff Counsellors are supported in their work with clients and teams, they have a chance to develop their practice and skills, build resilience, and identify opportunities for growth and continuous professional development.

A practitioner supported in reflection and exploration of issues, incidents and practice examples will enhance the overall learning process of the experience, with the emotional impact of the work also explored so self-awareness can grow. A lack of supervision is placing staff at risk of burnout and secondary traumatic stress; there is also evidence that those in the helping professions are more likely to have their own history of adversity, meaning that they may be more vulnerable to vicarious trauma. Regular supervision has been found to be a protective factor for both.

There is an expectation that Staff Counsellors will perform their duties with a high level of professionalism, reflecting sound values, ethics, and anti-oppressive practice. Supervision ensures that this is monitored, and practice is both ethical and safe.
