MID-TERM EXTERNAL EVALUATION OF PROJECT “PROTECTION AND ASSISTANCE TO VULNERABLE HAITIAN WOMEN AND CHILDREN MIGRANTS” (Албания - Тендер #62819102)

The project Protection and Assistance to Vulnerable Haitian Women and Children Migrants, funded by Global Affairs Canada (GAC) with a budget of 9,900,990.00 Canadian Dollars. The grant agreement lasts from March 2023 to December 2028, with activities expected to conclude by March 2027. The project aims at reinforcing safety, addressing protection risks, promoting economic growth, and contributing to restoring the human dignity of deported migrants and community members along the border with the Dominican Republic, and in the areas of origin with a specific focus on women and children to reduce poverty and improve the living conditions of the Haitian population. The project contributes to combating human trafficking and protecting internal and cross-border vulnerable migrants from violence, exploitation and abuse. The intervention also seeks to provide environmentally sustainable livelihoods for women and strengthen institutional capacities. This will be achieved through the implementation of a threefold approach:

1. Increased provision of gender - responsive protection assistance to address the primary needs of vulnerable forcibly returned women and children in Haiti;

2. Improved capacity for informed decision-making by vulnerable women and women-led organizations;

3. Improved access to economic opportunities and strengthened livelihoods for vulnerable forcibly returned Haitian women and children facing protection risks.
