The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) invites you for a Call For Expression of Interest for In-Kind Grant to Access Solar Dehydrators in Kiryandongo District, Uganda to submit an application. Refugees and host community households in Kiryandongo are often unable to move beyond subsistence agriculture, which, when coupled with lack of business skills, limited capacity of governance and lack of access to market structures to support inclusive agricultural production, makes them less self-reliant and more vulnerable to shocks. Thus, there is an urgent need for investment in longer-term solutions for refugees and host community, which can support livelihood and resilience building activities, and promote self-reliance. Thus, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), in partnership with Agricycle Global and with funding from Humanitarian Innovation Programme of the Government of Norway will support 500 refugee and 500 host community farmers in Kiryandongo refugee hosting district involved in the production of cassava, green bananas, jackfruits, sweet potatoes and sesame access solar dehydrators through an in-kind grant scheme and to participate in various capacity building activities. This is therefore to invite eligible applicants to express their interest in participating in this scheme.
