The purpose of this Request for Proposals (RFP) is to enter into a contractual agreement with a successful bidder and select a suitable contractor to standardise the Field Epidemiology Training Program Intermediate Course (FETP-IC) Curriculum and provide recommended National Certification Framework for the aforementioned curriculum
BACKGROUND
The Field Epidemiology Training Programme (FETP) is well established in the Philippines, producing graduates from the advanced course for 35 years. The FETP programme is led by the Philippines Department of Health - Epidemiology Bureau (DOH - EB). Over the past three years, the programme has been expanded to utilize a tiered training system, with the inclusion of intermediate and frontline training courses.
The intermediate course (FETP-IC) was first delivered in 2021 and has been delivered across four regions of the Philippines; Region I, II, CAR, and IV-A. Nationwide roll-out of the FETP-IC is planned as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the field epidemiology workforce across the country.
During the early implementation of the FETP-IC, there was some variation in the curriculum delivered across the regions. An evaluation of the FETP-IC course to review the training outcomes and impacts on work activities is scheduled for early 2023. There is a need to standardize the FETP-IC curriculum prior to national implementation of this training.
The WHO Philippines is looking for a contractual partner or institutional partner to provide a standardized curriculum for the FETP-IC course to be delivered nationally in the Philippines.
