Abstract: |
The Housing and Accommodation Support Service (HASS) for the Offender Personality Disorder Pathway Service is designed to support the outcomes of the OPD Pathway by providing specialist housing and accommodation support to offenders meeting relevant criteria, thereby facilitating their eventual move onto fully independent living in the community. This project is situated in a Grade II listed building in the Georgian quarter of Liverpool. The project contains 12 self contained units and will provide housing related support to men who have committed offences, and will be receiving ongoing support as they transition through the overall pathway. The housing support provider (this service) will provide housing related support to those residing in the project. Housing related support does not equate to care and therefore the provider will not be expected to provide personal, social or healthcare, however, it is recognised that close liaison between services is essential. The housing support provider will be required to create a psychologically informed environment where individuals benefit from a therapeutic milieu with an emphasis on developing positive and productive relationships. As such, they will be expected to work towards obtaining Enabling Environment status. |
