Republic of Tajikistan intends using the proceeds of a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (the Bank), Asian Development Bank and other sources for a project to rehabilitate section of Vahdat – Kyrgyz Border road. The road is part of the CAREC Corridor 3 and 5. The proposed project costs are estimated at 350 000 000 USD, and will require procurement of the following works, goods and services:

— rehabilitation of Vahdat – Rasht – Lakhsh — Qaramiq border of Kyrgyzstan Road (km 72-158 Obigarm – Nurobod section), including construction of a 800 meters long bridge across the upper reaches of the Rogun Dam towards the end of the new alignment approx. km 145+500,

— project implementation support,

— institutional development, and

— construction supervision.

Tendering for the above contracts is expected to begin in Q2-2019.

Contracts to be financed with the proceeds of a loan from the Bank will be subject to the Bank"s Procurement Policies and Rules and will be open to firms from any country. The proceeds of the Bank"s loan will not be used for the purpose of any payment to persons or entities, or for any import of goods, if such payment or import is prohibited by a decision of the United Nations Security Council taken under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations or under a law of official regulation of the purchaser"s country.
