The purpose of this notification is to inform the market that the Department of Conservation will be holding an Industry Briefing session for its Weather Forecast Project.
The Industry Briefing will run from 2pm to 3:30pm on Thursday, 30 January 2020 at Conservation House, 18-32 Manners Street, Te Aro, Wellington.
If you are interested in attending please complete the attached industry briefing registration form and email to procurement@doc.govt.nz no later
than 10am on Wednesday, 29 January 2020. Maximum of two attendees per organisation.
The objective of the project is to improve the enjoyment and safety of trampers, hunters, mountain bikers, skiers and fishers using New Zealand National and Forest Parks.
This is through:
(1) continuation with the services of the Mountain Weather Forecast to provide information to all users. This contract expires on the 30 June 2020;
(2) to develop a roadmap that incorporates available weather forecast information, including Mountain Weather Forecast, to visitors and Conservation staff, to identify "system(s)" within the
Department to ensure that informed decisions re personal safety can be made.
