Improving child & youth health outcomes is a priority for the Bay of Plenty District Health Board (BOPDHB). A range of appropriate services closer to home is needed to meet increasing
demands on our local child & adolescent mental health (CAMHS) and alcohol & other drug (AOD) services. A Youth Crisis Respite & Transitional Support Service does not currently exist
in the Bay of Plenty and has resulted in ad hoc (but unsustainable) solutions being utilised. With a rapidly growing population and the desire to offer services closer to home, the BOPDHB
wishes to partner with a provider/providers to deliver such a service and is seeking proposals for the delivery of a responsive, clinically safe, youth and family/whanau-friendly Youth Crisis
Respite & Transitional Support Service for eligible young people.
We are looking for credible providers who have the capability, experience and infrastructure to deliver the services identified in this request for proposal. They need to have a good track
record in effective partnerships with clinical teams and Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) in the delivery of a community-based mental health and/or AOD service and/or experience across a
range of child & youth mental health & AOD services as set out in the RFP documents coupled with the ability to form effective networks and strong relationships within our local
community. Of importance to us will be your ability and experience in:
• delivering the services specified in this proposal, or similar services
• managing demand within the various focus areas within a finite level of resource in a manner that is equitable
• working under a responsive model of care with a focus on understanding the individual needs of each young person and their family/whanau within the areas of focus set out in the service
specification and supporting young people on a pathway to resilience and wellness
• providing services for Māori and applying the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi
• involving young people, family and Whānau in service planning and delivery
• alongside the clinical CAMHS team and relevant NGOs managing the transition of young people back into their community of choice
• delivering value for money over the term of an agreement
• gaining local knowledge and integrating into our area.
